TTA Membership

The TTA is constantly working to improve and increase meaningful, quality, and accessible learning content for the homeless serving sector. We understand how much it is worth to organizations and systems to have healthy, well-trained, productive staff who love their jobs, stay in them longer, and are more likely to mentor future staff. Additionally, the ultimate goal is to create efficiency and continuity in your ability to support people experiencing homelessness more effectively, resulting in long-term stability and positive change and recovery in their lives.

This is why we have created a TTA membership option with three primary goals.

  1. Increase the amount of content available
  2. Increase the accessibility of the available content
  3. Increase the affordability of the available content

Our membership program revolves around our menu of brief, online, self-paced modules and supports our aim of assisting and encouraging organizations and systems to develop a consistent and well-rounded regimen of quality training both for staff who are just starting as well as ongoing professional development for those who are more seasoned or senior. The more onboarding modules you subscribe to along with the greater the number of users receiving access to the subscription, the cheaper your package becomes. Additionally, you will receive discounts on any of our live trainings whether they be in-person or virtual, thus making it more feasible to provide your practitioners the training options they need and that will be the most beneficial.

The Value of the Onboarding Process

It can be challenging and costly to keep up with high rates of staff turnover and a lack of consistency for your participants.  Building in this type of onboarding process can have several benefits.

Flexibility allowing staff freedom to work training around their own schedule.

Because the courses are self-paced, staff do not have to take time away from work and employers do not have to spend additional money to backfill so staff can attend a scheduled event. This also allows for all staff to participate in the same training without some being left out because of the need to backfill. There is a caveat or warning, however, with this flexibility. We would recommend that staff be given timelines for the completion of these modules. Otherwise, they are often “left for later” and then never get completed. We would also recommend that someone from management have the role of monitoring completion requirements.

Saves time getting new staff trained.

When you have the ability to immediately connect new staff to pertinent training providing knowledge and skills directly transferrable to their role, you are ahead of the game.

Saves money for your system or organization by reducing turnover.

We have already spoken about the money saved by not having to backfill positions so people can attend training. But even more importantly, research has shown that one of the biggest reasons staff leave positions prematurely is due to lack of training, and in this sector, burnout. Burnout can be directly connected to inadequate training and preparation for the work they are signing up to do. Many employees report feeling like they did not have the training and resources needed to do their job properly. This constant process of rehiring, and retraining through a process without immediate training options, can be very costly.

Increases the positive, unified environment of the organization or system.

As staff feel supported through proper and timely training, they are more motivated. They feel better about themselves, their job, and their team or the system in which they are working. They take care of each other and themselves better, and the atmosphere is improved and the mentality of the workforce is strengthened.

Participants have greater outcomes.

When staff are adequately trained and are doing a more effective job, those they are serving are being supported more effectively, which in turn harvests greater outcomes because those assisting them are properly skilled and prepared to engage in this challenging work. Those outcomes would include more stable long-term housing. Heightened levels of life stability or recovery.

Membership Costs

Below you will a table outlining the costs associated with onboarding module subscriptions. You have likely seen on the Onboarding Module page, that the base cost for one person to access one module is $50. As you add users (people accessing the modules) you will see the modules being discounted. You will also see that when you get to a certain number of modules within your subscription, the costs are reduced even further.

The far right column shows the discounted rate you would get for any live training you add to your package based on your subscription.  These discounts are taken from the costs for each live training included in the training descriptions.
