Description

Self-care in the homelessness sector is essential for maintaining overall health and well-being. It involves proactive steps to address the mental and emotional demands placed on workers, as well as managing stress effectively. This is crucial because those who care for others often give little attention to caring for themselves.

Designed specifically for staff in the sector, this module dives into why self-care matters for staying healthy and safe on the job. Participants are encouraged to reflect on their own self-care routines and set goals for staying healthy and safe while doing their work. Armed with this knowledge, participants will understand why making self-care a priority, building resilience, and reaching out for support when needed are essential for thriving in their demanding roles.

Remember, taking care of oneself is a radical act that contributes to better overall outcomes for both workers and the people they serve.
